Overview

Touchee (Kythuat.AI) is a service marketplace I founded and engineered from the ground up to connect customers with technicians and service partners in Vietnam. I took it from an initial idea through product design, system architecture, backend services, web and mobile applications, cloud infrastructure, partner onboarding, notifications, and production deployment.

The platform focuses on home and office technical services: computers, consumer electronics, air conditioning, office equipment, and mobile devices. Customers can discover services, communicate with the platform or technicians, and request support. Technicians and service partners have their own workflows for onboarding and managing requests.

It has also been a chance to work from both sides of the table: as an engineer responsible for a reliable system, and as a founder responsible for deciding what should actually be built.

The Challenge

Building Touchee was more than a marketplace interface. The underlying problem was how to digitize a service industry that still relies on phone calls, personal referrals, messaging, and manually coordinated technicians.

A customer with a technical problem usually wants help quickly. At the same time, the platform has to establish enough trust for that customer to let an unfamiliar technician work on equipment in their home or workplace.

That created several product and engineering constraints:

  • Making service discovery simple for non-technical customers
  • Supporting both independent technicians and established service partners
  • Building technician onboarding and verification workflows
  • Creating communication flows between customers, administrators, and technicians
  • Letting manual operations work in the early marketplace stage while leaving room for more automation as usage grows
  • Building reusable notification and order infrastructure instead of coupling features to individual workflows
  • Supporting a Vietnamese-first experience while keeping the architecture suitable for later expansion
  • Operating web, mobile, backend, storage, and infrastructure as a small engineering-led project

An important product decision was not to over-engineer the marketplace before supply and demand were established. Some operational workflows stay intentionally human-assisted early on, while the software is designed so they can later move toward automated matching and order processing.

My Role

I serve as founder and lead engineer, with hands-on responsibility across the product lifecycle. I designed and implemented Touchee as an end-to-end system rather than a single layer of the application.

  • Product discovery and feature definition
  • System and service architecture
  • Backend API design and implementation
  • Database and domain modeling
  • Web application development
  • Customer mobile application development
  • Technician and partner application workflows
  • Authentication and authorization
  • Partner onboarding and verification
  • Service catalog and marketplace discovery
  • Order and service-request workflows
  • Customer, support, and technician chat
  • Push-notification infrastructure
  • Object storage and media management
  • Cloud infrastructure and deployment
  • Google Play release preparation
  • Monitoring, production operations, and iterative improvement

I also decide where automation creates value and where human-assisted operations are more appropriate during an early marketplace launch.

Architecture

Touchee spans web, mobile, backend services, and cloud infrastructure, with maintainability and later growth in mind.

Core platform

The platform includes service discovery, order management, real-time customer support, and a reusable notification system powered by Firebase Cloud Messaging.

Web

The public web experience is built with Next.js. It covers service discovery, product information, and entry points into the Touchee ecosystem.

Mobile

The mobile application is built with Flutter, so customers get a consistent experience across platforms.

Infrastructure

The platform runs on containerized, cloud-based infrastructure: Docker, PostgreSQL, S3-compatible storage, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Vercel, and cloud or VPS hosting.

Engineering highlights

  1. 01

    Service discovery

Designed discovery so non-technical customers can find relevant home and office services without navigating a complex marketplace.

  2. 02

    Partner onboarding

Built technician and service-partner onboarding and verification workflows for both independent technicians and established partners.

  3. 03

    Notifications and orders

Built reusable notification and order infrastructure, including Firebase Cloud Messaging, instead of coupling those systems to a single workflow.

  4. 04

    Early-stage operations

Kept some operations intentionally human-assisted while designing the software so matching and order processing can move toward automation later.
